Venus Williams is on the spotlight anew but this time, she is holding the victim card.

The Palm Beach Gardens police reported last Thursday, Nov 16, that the tennis star’s home in Florida was burglarized while she was on her stint for the prestigious U.S. Open.

According to reports, burglars took $400 000 worth of property from William’s home that she bought way back in 2000.

The authority commented that the burglary happened around September 1 to 5, the same course of the quarter final round of the US Open, where Williams overwhelmed Czech opponent Petra Kvitova, to set up an all-American semifinals showdown against Sloane Stephens.

Meanwhile, the police did not show the media the list of properties taken by the criminals for confidentiality purpose.

It was not the first time that the older William tangled with an issue as she was sued last June for her involvement in a terrible car crash near her home that lead to the death of Jerome Barson, two weeks after the incident. Barson’s widow filed a lawsuit against Williams.

Going back to the theft issue, Williams was not the first personality to become a sorry victim of a massive robbery as the former Lakers guard Nick Young, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, and UFC icon Ronda Rousey also lost tremendous amount of valuables.
