The Largo Police Department in Pinellas Park, Florida will press grand theft charges to a 51-yr old man named Christopher McGowan after he confessed to detectives that he had stolen money from his company in a span of seven years.

McGowan served Business Card Express, a firm based in Clearwater, as a comptroller since 2002 and was discovered to have taken an estimate of $800000-$100000 illegally from the company’s asset from 2010-2017.

The authorities have arrested the suspect last December 5, Tuesday, and sued McGowan for grand theft.

According to his testimony, the money was stolen through different means including using the company’s name to open an American Express Card. He then used the card for his personal agenda.

The police said that the suspect has also done fraudulent activities with his payroll, which led to an incurred loss of $4000. Additionally, he was accused of stealing another $200000 in three years, from 2007 to 2010, but the police are still looking for some evidences from the company’s record.

The confession was made when the police department taken McGowan into their custody.
